Daryl Roth on Becoming a Producer

“At the beginning of my career, a lot of people weren’t very gracious. They thought,
‘Okay. She’ll be around for a couple of months.’
Well, not so fast.”
“I had to find a niche for myself. I had to find plays that push the envelope.”

“I read Albee’s work in college. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would produce six of his plays.”

Daryl Roth is the Producer of over 110 productions, Broadway and Off-Broadway, including seven Pulitzer Priize winners. The recipient of eleven Tony Awards, she is the winner of the Lucile Lortel Lifetime Achievement Award, among many honors. Her production of Paula Vogel’s Indecent aired on PBS Great Performances in November 2017
