A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE

Girls at a high school in Afghanistan are delighted to see a performance by women (usually banned from performing).  Bond Street Theatre of New York has created four all-women’s theatre groups that perform solely for women. Here we see Simorgh Theatre’s all-women’s group presenting a performance they created about women’s right to vote, a collaboration with Bond Street Theatre supported by the US Institute for Peace. In addition to informing the girls of their rights, it lets them know that they can be bold, funny, and dynamic on stage themselves… if not the theatrical stage, at least on the stage of their own lives.
